Ethics Symposium
International award winning author and photographer Rachel Callander gives a parent's perspective to medical leaders on the value, and abilities of children born with chromosomal conditions.
Filmed at the Perinatal Bioethics Symposium at Otago University.

TEDx Auckland
When her daughter Evie was born with a significant genetic imbalance, photographer Rachel Callander turned to language to look beyond her disabilities and instead see her "super powers." Rachel's talk describes how Evie inspired her to connect with and photograph other super power babies and how this led to her making her internationally celebrated book Super Power Baby Project. The book celebrates the things that make a person truly unique and challenges the deficit language used when describing disability.

Crowdfunding Success gets Project Underway
84K raised in 35 days for the Super Power Baby Project, a photographic art book of children from all over New Zealand with a range of chromosomal and genetic conditions - aka "super powers". The Super Power Baby Project is about creating a new language to describe disability. A language that celebrates awesomeness and teaches the world to see the beauty in these amazing Super Power children.
